We all want to live a life pain-free, so call us today. WHAT IS FIBROMYALGIA? Fibromyalgia is a condition of widespread chronic pain and other symptoms that appear to be the result of a heightened stimulation of pain centers in the brain. Research indicates this may be the effect of infection, injury, surgery or psychological stress. The condition affects women more frequently than men. Genetics may play a part in the risk of developing fibromyalgia. Symptoms can vary from person to person but can include fatigue, headaches, pain on both sides of the body, lower abdomen ache, anxiety, depression and cognitive difficulties. Having an immune system disorder predisposes individuals to develop fibromyalgia. HOW DOES A CHIROPRACTOR IN NORTH LITTLE ROCK TREAT FIBROMYALGIA? Because fibromyalgia involves chronic pain throughout the body, individuals can benefit from many chiropractic techniques that relieve stress on your nervous system. Welcome to Journey Chiropractic & Acupuncture. It is a common misconception that chiropractors only treat back and neck pain. While those are excellent reasons to make an appointment, there are other symptoms/conditions that are excellent as well. Did you know that I see a lot of patients who have headaches, shoulder pain, loss of range of motion, ankle and knee pain, carpal tunnel, numbness and tingling down the arms or legs, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, fibromyalgia, and that is only to name few. Call and make your appointment today to find out how chiropractic and/or acupuncture can get you back to living and loving life again! Blessings!
Fibromyalgia can be very debilitating not only physically, but emotionally as well. It can effect the way you move, the way you sleep, your attitude, your work, your family life, your social life. If any of that sounds familiar to you or maybe describes someone that you know and love, then there is hope. I have successfully helped many patients suffering with fibromyalgia with chiropractic and acupuncture and have achieved great results.
While you are under care, there are some things that will benefit you to do at home. This one baffles me as to how many people give such resistance in giving up their diet sodas. Yes, I said "giving up diet coke, diet Dr. Pepper, etc." One thing I found in common with a lot of my fibro patients is that either drank a lot of diet sodas or had a heavy sweet tooth. Aspartame and other sugar substitutes affect the neurotransmitters in our bodies which causes a plethora of problems in our bodies. Excess sugar feeds the inflammation and keeps you feeling tired from the blood sugar spikes and drops. Sometimes it takes a while to get in the mindset to go a week or two without, but once they did, WOW it was a transformation and the healing happened that much faster. Start slow and cut back a little every few days until you replace it entirely with something your body will thank you for. Call 501-753-7200 to schedule your appointment. Stop the pain and suffering! Get back to living and loving life again! Are you getting your daily dose of Vit D? Vitamin D is naturally produced in the skin when you are exposed to sunshine.
